Dr. Lease was born in Jacobus, Pennsylvania, the last of thirteen children, son of Clayton and Violet (Loucks) Lease. Dr. Lease graduated from Lancaster Bible College in 1952 with a degree in Theology. For the next four years he lived in Boston where he served pastorates while pursuing advanced studies at Gordon College and Boston University. He returned to Lancaster, Pennsylvania to become Dean of Lancaster Bible College in 1956. He was elected President of the College in 1961 and served in that position until 1979. While President he was awarded a Doctor of Divinity degree. During his presidency he saw thirteen new buildings constructed on Campus and enrollment rise from less than one hundred to more than four hundred fifty students. Other ministries included a pastorate at Faith Calvary Church near Lancaster (1980-1984); Ministered with BCM International with Evangelist Ron Susek; for five years with Kirby Smith Associates in a ministry of church finance; and from 1993-1997 as pastor of Faith Bible Chapel of Cochranville, Pennsylvania. From 1984, Dr. Lease has been God's faithful servant in various avenues of service with Good Life Ministries, Inc. located in the York, Pennsylvania area: Bible speaker, Teacher of the Moody Bible Institute Courses of Study with the Good Life Bible Institute, a Prayer-Partner with the Liberty Bible Camp Ministry, and a great encourager in the work of the Lord. Since 1997, Dr. Lease has recorded over 430 Bible messages which have been compiled into 52 printed books by Good Life Ministries, Inc., York, PA and are available on-line or on request at www.LibertyCamp.org While living in Lancaster, his wife Barbara was the Assistant Director of Nursing at the Calvary Fellowship Homes. They have two children (one preceded in death) and four grandchildren. Mrs. Lease is residing in Lancaster, PA. Dr. Stuart E. Lease left for his Home in Glory on December 28, 2004 |
